Our updated logo design was completed this week, and has been added to our website. The logo image represents a circular hearth, in which boxes containing archaeological material are converted from object to digital data through the digitizing "smoke".
A big thank you to Double Q Printing and Graphics in London, Ontario, who completed the polishing of our logo over the last few weeks.

Mezzanine workstations
The research associate workstations have been set up in the mezzanine. By this time next month, this space will be in use as the Digital Animation Unit gets to work on developing the 3D protocol we will be using for our scanned objects at the facility.

Heave-ho!
The microCT scanner from Nikon Metrology is moved into the Ancient Images Lab at Sustainable Archaeology. It took 5 men and several pieces of equipment to get it into place (it weighs almost 4 tonnes). The machine will be setup and training will commence the first week of May.

microCT arrives
Right on time, the riggers arrive to offload the microCT scanner. Two trucks, two big crates and several smaller boxes - along with a crew of five to assist. It's a major production just to get this piece of equipment into its new home in the Visualization Lab.

Collaboration & Visualization Gallery
The furniture for the Collaboration & Visualization Gallery has arrived - as have the other workstations. The facility is fit for use! Next week we anticipate the delivery of the microCT scanner and our first boxed collection.

Furniture Day
The furniture has started to arrive today - there will be less of an echo in our labs as we set up the data integration room, the collaboration and visualization station, the manager's office and the visitor workstations in the mezzanine.
